I like this material better than the softer Luna Mono material and the harder Vibram Cherry. The huaraches I made from the Pyramid do not go slap slap slap as I run like the Cherry do. A lot of ground feel still--you have to watch where you step. Highly recommended for DIY huaraches.

I made my huaraches with theses almost a year ago. I have run and hiked hundreds of miles with this sole material. I wear about a size-10 shoe, and with the lacing material the pair I made weighs 5.6 ounces.
I currently trail run the Deschutes River near Bend, Oregon almost daily with these. I am training for fast-packing (backpacking while running) trips on the PCT and the Colorado Trail. I plan on using the huaraches I made with these soles for both trips, and many more hundreds of miles of training as well.
I have hiked to the summits of South Sister (a rubble pile); and Mount McLoughlin in Oregon which has a 3rd class scramble to the summit. I have also done many hikes up peaks with gravel like approaches. This sole makes it so easy.
I just examined them, and after hundreds of miles of use, they are still performing well, and show no signs of excessive wear.
The only complaint is when going through mud, my foot tends to slide around on top of the surface. However, withing a few minutes, the mud dries and the normal stability returns.

I used the pyramid to make my first pair of huaraches. It was pretty easy to cut and took less than an hour to make the sandals. I haven't had a problem with any terrain, wear/tear, etc, though I've only had them for a week. I've had plenty of grip on grass, sand, and gravel even though there isn't a ton of texture. Also no problems when they get a bit wet from rain or sweat. Looking forward to increasing my distance in them in the months to come.
